You'll use the old rubble of past lives to build anew,
rebuild the old foundations from out of your past.
You'll be known as those who can fix anything,
restore old ruins,
rebuild and renovate,
make the community livable again.
Isaiah 58: 12
Hurricane Katrina caused our congregation great suffering, with 20 of our approximately 100 families losing everything due to flooding and winds, including the homes of our preaching minister and youth minister.
The important news is that relationships are being formed, and lives are being touched. We are distributing food to our community and sending work crews around the area to help clear out damaged houses. To God be the glory!
Update:
If you have the desire to get help to families
that are still in need, send the funds to us & we will
pass them along with love to those people. Plus, if
you want to come and work, we will make that happen,
too. Once again, we hope to limit incoming groups to a
maximum of fifteen in residence at one time. Please
refer to the calendar below if you are interested in
coming to work.
Volunteers from across the country are coming to help, and we are so grateful. We can honestly say that our volunteers are the coolest people on the planet, sacrificing their time to love us with their actions.
We need more volunteers over the coming weeks and months, because there is much work left to do. We need you to come in as self-sufficient as possible (equipment, work clothes, food for meals, sleeping bags/pillows, etc.) If you would like to volunteer, please call us first. See the Help page for more ways you can assist in our efforts.
Thank you for visiting our site, and may God bless you!
