Meet Al Sturgeon

I was born and raised in Paragould, Arkansas. That is where I came to know Jesus. My parents sacrificed greatly to send me to Crowley's Ridge Academy, and I graduated from there in 1988. I went to college to be a coach. I spent a year at Harding University, then transferred to the University of Arkansas where I graduated in 1992.

After college, I returned to my hometown where I coached and taught social studies classes for six years. In the middle of that time, God blessed me with a family of my own.

I married Jody in 1994, and we are blessed with two wonderful daughters, Erica and Hillary. We worked together as houseparents at Children's Homes, Inc. for three years while living in Arkansas which was a tremendous blessing in our lives. In February, 1999, however, God blessed us in another wonderful way when we moved to Ocean Springs, Mississippi, to work with the Ocean Springs Church of Christ.
